Deep-sea Fishing
With our sportfishing roots, we have the luxury of working with
only the best boats, highest-quality equipment and most experienced
captains. Our waters teem with marlin, yellowfin and big-eye tuna,
dorado (mahi mahi) and, of course, record-breaking sailfish. Whether
you’re a deep-sea veteran or out to catch your first billfish,
this is top-notch excitement.
Diving
According to Lonely Planet, Playa del Coco has “the best scuba
diving in Costa Rica.” It’s true; few destinations boast
more marine animals and variety of species than the Gulf of Papagayo
off northern Guanacaste. And the marine life here is BIG, with giant
leatherbacks and bull sharks both weighing in at up to two tons,
for starters. Huge schools of fish give divers a chance to glide
into “walls” of fish, including large pelagics.
Dive sites include Catalinas (with spectacular pinnacles
and mantas schooling in the hundreds), Bat Islands (world-class
“big animal action”) for advanced divers only, Escorpiones
(a well-visited stop for green, olive Ridley and giant leatherback
turtles), Corridas (for frog fish enthusiasts), Bajo Tiburones (with
a cave sheltering baby nurse sharks), Monkey Head (with schools
of spotted eagle rays) and many more. With so many unforgettable
sites to choose from, this is diving like you’ve never seen,
whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced diver.
Sailing
Set sail aboard the Don Basco, a gorgeous 65-foot luxury motorsailer
built by the French as a gift to Spain. Indulge yourself in a spectacular
sunset cruise including wine and appetizers, or sail on a day trip
to a secluded beach, where you’ll enjoy a chef-prepared lunch
in paradise.
Surfing
Surf is definitely up, dude, with nearby Witch’s Rock and
Tamarindo offering the best surfing in Costa Rica. Our area
is the best and most affordable departure point for these world-class
surfing spots. We’ll be happy to arrange lessons or a boat
ride out to the rock for you.
Windsurfing
World-class windsurfing can be had on beautiful Lake Arenal, at
the foot of the highly active Arenal Volcano. Lonely Planet ranks
this the “second-best place to windsurf in the world.”
Check it out for yourself!
Island Snorkeling
Explore the abundant waters with tube and mask – you won’t
believe what you’ll see!
Golf
Golfers, rejoice! The Ron Garl-designed course at Rancho Las Colinas Golf and Country Club and the Robert Trent Jones II course at Melia Playa Conchal are both just an hour to an hour and a half away. Book your tee time now!

imposing Arenal, one of the most active volcanoes in the world.
This tour takes you past peaceful Arenal Lake to Tabacón
Hot Springs, where you can soak in the relaxing and curative waters

and rumblings. By night, hot red lava may light up the sky –

the rainforest canopy on a zipline, then mounting up on horseback
for a ride to the natural spa, where a luxurious soak in the mineral-rich
mud baths and a swim in the natural thermal pools await.
Congo Trail Canopy Tour
See the forest like you’ve never seen it before! Explore the
canopy of these ancient trees, a habitat teeming with all the life
of the tropics, on 840 meters (2,750 feet) of cable from tree to
tree. Hang with the monkeys in harness and safety equipment, and
discover the forest from a totally different point of view.
Corobicí River Float (Rafting Class I-II)
Great for birdwatchers and nature lovers. Drift lazily along this
tranquil river, and enjoy the amazing abundance of wildlife. The
tropical backdrop along the river is the perfect setting for howler
monkeys, white-faced monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas and any of 300
different species of birds.
Whitewater Rafting (Class III-IV)
Costa Rica is famous worldwide for its whitewater, and it’s
no wonder: challenging rapids flanked by dazzlingly lush tropical
vegetation make for an unforgettable rafting experience. Take the
white plunge on the Pacuare, one of the top-rated whitewater experiences
in the world, or check out the lesser known but no less exhilarating
Peñas Blancas, Sarapiquí and San Carlos rivers. Let’s
get wet!
Gold Coast Beaches

Guaitil Artisan’s Village
Guaitil is a small village near Santa Cruz, the “folkloric
capital of Costa Rica”. Here, you can learn how the village’s
artisans fashion and color their unique pottery using the time-honored
techniques of their pre-Columbian ancestors, the Chorotegas. A great
place to pick up souvenirs!

No vacation in Costa Rica would be complete without a horseback
ride through one of our forests. For riders
of all experience levels.
National Park Tours
One of our experienced, knowledgeable guides can take you to your
choice of nearby national parks Barra Honda, Guanacaste, Marino
Las Baulas, Palo Verde, Rincón de la Vieja or Santa Rosa.
Rincón de la Vieja Volcano
This easy hiking tour takes you through one of Costa Rica’s
most amazing national parks. Fumaroles, hot mud pools and eerie
steam holes create a spectacular landscape, awesome proof of the
country’s volcanic nature. Take an optional horseback ride
to crane your neck at 195-foot La Cangreja Waterfall, tumbling down
rocky terrain devastated by volcanic eruptions.
Sea Turtle Nesting Tour
This nocturnal tour is seasonal between November and February, when
the turtles come up to nest. Our guide will take you to Playa Grande,
one of the world’s most important nesting sites for the giant
leatherback turtle, which can reach up to five meters (16 feet)
head to tail and 900 kilos (two tons) in weight. Watching these
massive reptiles lay their eggs under the moonlight is truly an
unforgettable experience. As many as 8,000 turtles may come up in
one night.
